On the food front; foods taste different. Sugars have become too sweet and not satisfying. I crave fruits instead because the flavor of the fruit is so much more rich. All flavors are stronger. You can taste I eat smaller portions and get full faster. I haven't lost weight as of today. But I finally feel better and am excited about getting back to the gym. With a whole food diet you can be your best. As I've progressed through my journey on a vegan and predominantly raw diet, I am realizing that this idea is the most important. A diet rich in whole foods is the ideal diet for every body. If you could only take away one of these guidelines, I would say take this one. I eat to be HEALTHY, and therefore happy.

Not to lose weight, conform to a fad, or because I am depressed and need comfort. As Hippocrates wisely stated: "Let thy food be thy medicine and thy medicine be thy food." I filter my water with velaqua. That's about it! With these guidelines, my diet ends up being a diet of whole plant foods, a lot of them raw, and with a high-carb focus. Your diet will surely be different, maybe by a lot or just slightly; the important thing is that it works best for you.

Cancer cells use more glucose (sugar) per unit of time than other cells. Sugar metabolism creates acid, which also supports cancer progression. High fructose corn syrup, because of its processing methodology, is high in mercury, a cancer-promoting toxin in the body. The recommendation to eliminate sugar includes sugar in all its forms, even "natural" sugars like honey and agave, as well as white sugar and high fructose corn syrup. Enjoy unsweetened applesauce, two or three figs or dried apricots, or a piece of fresh pineapple if you need a sweet treat. Moderation with fruit is important, as fructose has been shown to increase the rate of cancer cell division as much as two-fold – more than other forms of sugar.
